VISA to
AUSTRALIA
In
Bangladesh
Family-Child
The information on this page is specific to applicants in Bangladesh.

 Who should apply?

Child (Subclass 101)

This visa is for a person outside Australia seeking a permanent visa on the basis of being the dependent Family-Child of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.

Adoption (Subclass 102)

This visa is for a person seeking a permanent visa on the basis of being adopted (or who has already been adopted) by an Australian resident who meets certain legislative criteria. In very broad terms, this visa provides for the migration of a Family-Child who is either adopted (or to be adopted) with the involvement of an Australian State/Territory adoption authority or adopted privately by an Australian resident(s) who has been living overseas for more than 12 months. The decision maker must be satisfied that the adoptive parent(s) have not contrived their absence in order to circumvent State/Territory adoption procedures.

Please note that, in general, adoptions in Bangladesh have not been accepted as the equivalent of an adoption in Australia as they do not provide for the legal and permanent severing of the relationship between natural parents and the Family-Child.

Orphan Relative (Subclass 117)

This visa is for a person seeking a permanent visa on the basis of being an "orphan relative", as defined by the Migration Regulations 1994.

 Assessment Factor
