GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
|
Information on this page is specific to applicants in Bangladesh.
|
CHARACTER
All applicants for visas to Australia must meet the requirement to be of good character. This can be done in a variety of ways depending on the type of visa applied for and intended duration of stay. In all cases, applicants are asked a number of questions relating to their general conduct, past criminal conduct and associations (as applicable) and military service and are asked to sign a Character Declaration.
Applicants for provisional and permanent migration must provide police clearance certificate(s) from all countries where they have lived for 12 months or more in the previous 10 years since reaching the age of 16. In some cases, the Australian High Commission may also require a police clearance certificate from applicants for other categories of visa.

HEALTH
All applicants for visas to Australia must meet health requirements. This can be done in a variety of ways depending on the type of visa applied for and the intended duration of stay. In some cases the Australian High Commission will request a declaration of good health by the applicant (for example from most short stay visitors). Other applicants will be required to undergo medical screening including a chest X-ray.
A medical examination and chest x-ray must be undertaken by:
- Visitor visa applicants who intend to visit childcare or medical facilities, or spend more than 4 weeks in a class-room situation while in Australia
-
Visitor visa applicants who intend to stay in Australia for longer than 3 months
-
Student visa applicants and student dependent visa applicants
-
Temporary residence visa applicants
-
Applicants for provisional and permanent migration.
-
Applicants will be advised of the requirements and procedures for these examinations after lodgement of their visa application.
