IMPORTANT INFORMATION The information on this page is specific to applicants in
Bangladesh.
For details of requirements for student visas, please refer to
the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website
www.immi.gov.au/students/index.htm
The Australian High Commission does not endorse the services of any particular
student agent or education provider.
Student visa applicants are advised not to enrol or pay institution fees before
lodging a visa application. Applications can be made to the High Commission on
the basis of a “Letter of Offer” from an education provider.
Acceptance by an Australian educational institution does not in any way
guarantee that a visa will be granted. Student visa applicants must meet
legislative requirements for the grant of a visa.
Arrangements for payment of tuition fees are a private matter between the
student and the educational institution. The Australian government is not
involved in any way and accepts no liability. If an application for a student
visa is rejected, obtaining a refund from the institution is the student's
responsibility.
Student visa holders may apply to the Department of Immigration and
Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) in Australia for permission to work after they
have commenced their course. If permission to work is granted, a student may
work up to 20 hours per week during the term and unlimited hours during
recognised periods of vacation.
