HOW TO MAKE A VALID APPLICATION

Make sure that the visa subclass you are applying for is the correct one which suits your purpose.

Download an application form from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website www.immi.gov.au/allforms or obtain one from the Australian Visa Application Centre in Dhaka. All Australian visa application forms are free of charge - do not pay for a visa application form.

To make a valid application for any visa you must lodge a completed application form signed personally by the applicant together with the non-refundable visa application charge. Application forms from person aged under 16 years must be signed by a responsible adult.

You should provide all relevant information and documents together with the application. Incomplete applications take longer to process and may be refused.

All documents not in English must be accompanied by a certified translation.

To avoid delays, please include the required supporting documentation in support of the application at the time of lodgement (please see the appropriate checklist).

Supporting documentation should not be faxed directly to the Australian High Commission. All documentation should be lodged with the application.

If the specified supporting documents have not been provided by the time that the application is assessed, a decision will be made on the basis of the available information. Australian migration legislation permits a decision to be taken at any time after the application has been lodged.
